DC Environmental is Hiring - Experienced Industrial Hygienist.
Evaluating chemical or biological physical dangers like air quality, ergonomic challenges, dangerous sound levels, and even productivity, through the establishment of and adherence to health and safety-related regulations and protocols.
Essential Functions * Analyze, identify and measure workplace hazards or stresses that can cause sickness, impaired health, or significant discomfort in workers through chemical, physical, or biological exposures.
Investigates the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency.
Conducts evaluations of exposure to ionizing and nonionizing radiation and to noise, and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
Prepares reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards.
Evaluates facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promotes the maintenance of a sanitary working environment.
OPTIONAL FUNCTIONS (if Applicable) Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, And SKILLS REQUIRED Preferrence - Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or another related degree. Experience in lieu of college education is a possibility. Years of experience: 2 – 4 years in construction, facility maintenance, or industrial safety. Working towards CIH or CSP certification.
Candidate must be able to lift forty (pounds), climb a ladder, be agile enough to get into crawl spaces, attics, and interstitial space for asbestos inspections. Must have general good fitness.
