Karen Dremann

President

Karen Dremann is the President at the helm of DC Environmental and manages the day-to-day operations of a large and dynamic woman-owned company. She is responsible for all day-to-day and future operations, providing cost estimating, staff oversight, budgeting, project timelines, project scheduling, and scheduling of Certified Industrial Hygienists, Industrial Hygiene Technicians, and all employees.

Ms. Dremann is an Honors graduate of the University of New Mexico, Magna Cum Laude, with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Environmental Science. She brings twenty-five years of experience in the environmental consulting and training field.
David Charlesworth

David Charlesworth

Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional

With a degree in Biology and Master’s work in Toxicology, Mr. David Charlesworth has extensive experience including safety and environmental health in construction and industrial applications, as well as teaching environmental subjects in a class setting.

Mr. Charlesworth has been in the safety and health field since 1985 and established his first consulting business in 1994. He currently manages an Industrial Hygiene Team of six across the Southwest Region and resides in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area.

As a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Mr. Charlesworth has extensive knowledge in workplace exposure assessments, along with EPA training in hazardous waste operations. He has performed a major part of his career overseeing hazardous waste remediation activities and asbestos abatement. He has provided extensive consultation in occupational safety and health for the health care industry, government entities, and manufacturing entities across the United States. Mr. Charlesworth is certified with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.

Jeffrey Biedenbach

Jeffrey Biedenbach

Senior Trainer, Asbestos and Lead Inspector and Senior Industrial Hygienist

Mr. Biedenbach is an environmental and safety trainer, a Lead and Asbestos Building inspector, an industrial Hygienist, and is DC Environmental's ROS. He brings 23 years of experience from the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program, including 2 years in Nuclear Repair, 4 years in RADCON, over 17 years in Quality Control, and over 20 years supervising various emergency response teams. He has over 14 years of involvement with safety and safety training since 2001.

Currently holding 4 asbestos accreditations (Contractor Supervisor, Building Inspector, Management Planner, and Project Designer), he is accredited as an Asbestos Instructor. He is also an OSHA General Safety Instructor, an American Heart Association CPR and First-aid Instructor. Jeff Biedenbach is certified as a Hazmat Responder and Hazmat Supervisor, Lead Inspector, and Mold Inspector.

Industrial Hygienist and Environmental Project Specialist

Ms. Michelle Stafford, BS, has a Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology. She is a Lead and Asbestos Building inspector, an industrial Hygienist. She has ten years of experience in Environmental Science field. Ms. Stafford is a key member of DC Environmental’s project oversight division. She currently holds two asbestos accreditations, Contractor Supervisor and Building Inspector.
Steven Gutierrez

Steven Gutierrez

Senior Industrial Hygienist Technician/Project Manager

Steven Gutierrez brings 20 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager/Industrial Hygiene Technician to the DC Environmental family. Mr. Gutierrez is responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading projects from ideation through to completion. His senior role at our organization is to interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.

He is efficient at leading project planning sessions, coordinating staff and internal resources, managing project progress, and adapting to work changes as required. He ensures that projects meet deadlines while managing relationships with clients and stakeholders. Mr. Gutierrez oversees all incoming and outgoing project documentation and participates in the tender process, including design, submission, and review. He is a certified Asbestos, Lead, and Mold inspector.

Office Manager

Crystal Baca has been with DC Environmental since 2016. She is the Assistant Office Manager and Course Coordinator. Ms. Baca has been working in the construction industry since 2006 and has gained a plethora of knowledge of the industry and standard business practices since then. She is currently working on her bachelor’s in business management through the University of New Mexico. Crystal assist our employees with day to day tasks and upholding excellent customer service for our clients is the name of her game!
Robert Gakin

Robert Gakin

Senior Trainer, Industrial Hygiene Technician (Currently training as a Certified Safety Professional)

For the past 20 years, Robert has become an OSHA, DOT, IATA, EPA, and AHERA instructor specializing in chemical and hazardous waste management. For the first 10 years of his career, he worked in the logistics of hazardous materials shipping materials worldwide by all modes of transportation. The last 10 years, he has concentrated on regulated dusts such as Asbestos.

Robert Gakin is an accredited AHERA Asbestos Instructor, Inspector, and Project Designer. In addition, he has been HAZWOPER certified for 20 years, assisting with hazardous material spill cleanup and remediation of contaminated lands. Robert Gakin brings personal dedication and mastery to the DC Environmental team, and his intent is to always promote, embolden, and instill confidence in DC Environmental's students, ensuring they understand how to protect themselves from chemical exposure.

Robert graduated from Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute with an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Science and furthered his education with a BS in Business Management.
