Asbestos Services

DC Environmental Inc. provides a wide range of asbestos services, including inspections, air monitoring, project design, and abatement oversight. Our experienced team ensures full regulatory compliance and safety for building owners and contractors.

AHERA Inspections and Management Plans

The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) governs K-12 educational entities. We conduct statistically reliable inspections, documenting asbestos locations and preparing AHERA Management Plans to ensure ongoing safety and regulatory compliance.

Air Monitoring Services

During asbestos abatement, monitoring fiber emissions is critical. Our air monitoring services document safe conditions and minimize liabilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management.

Asbestos Abatement Oversight

DC Environmental provides third-party oversight during asbestos abatement projects, ensuring contractors follow regulations and safety practices. We act as the owner's representative, minimizing liability and controlling costs.

Asbestos Abatement Project Design and Specification

We develop detailed Project Design Manuals and Specifications for asbestos abatement during renovations or demolitions. These documents ensure competitive bidding, safe working conditions, and full compliance with government regulations.

Asbestos Building Inspections, Assessments, and Testing

Our building inspections, assessments, and testing services help owners comply with OSHA and EPA regulations, identifying asbestos-containing materials to ensure safety during building operations, renovations, or demolitions.

Final Air Clearance

We perform final air clearance testing after asbestos abatement to ensure that air quality meets OSHA standards. Our services document that the work area is safe for re-entry, minimizing environmental liabilities.

Phase Contrast Microscopy

Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) is used to analyze airborne fiber levels during asbestos abatement. Our rapid 24-hour turnaround time helps owners monitor safety and ensure project effectiveness.

Pre-Demolition and Pre-Renovation Building Inspections

Before demolition or renovation, we conduct building inspections to sample and test friable materials. Our services ensure compliance with NESHAP regulations and help owners obtain necessary permits.

Respiratory Protection Fit Testing

Respirator fit testing is required for mandatory use of all tight-fitting facepieces and recommended for voluntary use. OSHA 1910.134(f) states: 'The employer shall ensure that an employee using a tight-fitting facepiece respirator is fit tested prior to initial use of the respirator, whenever a different respirator facepiece (size, style, model or make) is used, and at least annually thereafter.' Employees issued powered air purifying respirators and supplied air respirators with loose-fitting facepieces, hoods, or helmets are not subject to respirator fit testing.
